Reverend Donald C. Bremer, Lead Pastor
Reverend Donald Bremer is a native of Orlando, Florida. Educated in the public school system of Orange county, studied at the Orlando Junior college before transferring to the University of South Florida where he majored in Marketing.
Donald worked for several fortune 500 companies in sales and sales management. His work was concentrated in business forms design, manufacturing of plastics and later joining Motorola Communications and Electronics as a Sales Manager in Southern Florida. Donald was attracted to the commercial real estate marketing of office space. This led him into the Title Insurance field where he managed human resources for major underwriters.
Through several faith experiences, his heart was “strangely warmed” as John Wesley would say. He returned to college studying human resource management before entering seminary at Emory Universities Candler School of theology.
Reverend Bremer completed the requirements for the Master of Divinity degree in 1996 while serving two churches in the Asheville, North Carolina district. He was appointed to Cummings Memorial United Methodist in Horse Shoe. In 2000, Don and Linda returned to Florida to serve First United Methodist Church of New Smyrna Beach. After nine successful years, Don and Linda were sent to Hollywood Hills UMC, where he retired in 2012.
Don and Linda married in September 1987 blending two families together. Together they have four sons; Clay (Chrissy), Randy (Laura), Craig (Rick) and Brian (Lori). Two grandchildren, Kristen (19) student (Junior) at FAU, Matthew (14) student in middle school.
Of major interest during their ministry, Don and Linda have served the Walk to Emmaeus, Via de Christo, Missions to Haiti, Russia, Costa Rica and Eastern North Carolina. They have done Wesley Tour of Scotland/England, Paul’s Fourth Journey of Greece, Italy and the Holy Land.
In 2016, Don was offered an appointment to Cummings Memorial UMC to serve as lead pastor.
Donald Bremer is Certified as an Interim Pastor by the United Methodist Church; Certified as a Spiritual Director by Drew University, and serves as a Christian Life Coach. He also has served as a chaplain for Pardee Hospital, Bert Fish Memorial and Mission Memorial Hospitals.

Rita fills two roles with us, she not only leads the choir, she is also our pianist for service. She has had the pleasure of working at Cummings Memorial UMC since 2000.
A native of Hendersonville, Rita is a Graduate of Appalachian State University holding degrees in Music and French and a BS in Education. She also holds a MA in Administration and Higher Education.
Rita is married to Tim Hood who owns T and R Specialty Services, an area tree removal and landscaping company.
